High Court of GujaratThe High Court of Gujarat invites ‘On-line Applications’, from the eligible candidates, for filling up a total 109 vacancies, Candidates can apply online through official website hc-ojas.guj.nic.in and ojas.gujarat.gov.in on the establishments of the Subordinate Courts in the State of Gujarat, by way of Competitive Examinations, vis-a-vis the various Posts, as arrayed below :

    • Pay Scale : Rs.44900-142400
    • Total Vacancy : 70
    • Qualification : Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or any
      equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Government. Speed in English Short Hand 120 w.p.m. Basic knowledge of Computer Operation is essential as per Government Resolution dated 13/08/2008. Sufficient knowledge of English, Gujarati & Hindi Language
  2. Gujarati Stenographer Grade–II (Class-II)
    • Pay Scale : Rs.44900-142400
    • Total Vacancy : 39
    • Qualification : Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university or any
      equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Government. Speed in Gujarati Short Hand 90 w.p.m. Basic knowledge of Computer Operation is essential as per Government Resolution dated 13/08/2008. Sufficient knowledge of English, Gujarati & Hindi Language

Total no. of Vacancy : 109 posts

Age Limit  : (As on 15/08/2017) 21 to 40 years

Application Fee : Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes,
Socially & Educationally Backward Classes, Differently Abled Persons and Ex-Servicemen are required to pay Examination Fees of ₨.250/- (plus the usual Bank Charges) and all other Candidates are required to pay Examination Fees of ₨.500/- (plus the usual Bank
Charges), through any of the Core Banking Service Branches of the State Bank of India, using the Special Format of ‘CASH VOUCHER’, as appended to this Advertisement, from 01/08/2017 to 15/08/2017, during the Bank Working Days and Hours

English & Gujarati Stenographers Syllabus

(A) Stenography Test : [Tentatively scheduled on 08/10/2017] 

(i) The Selection will be made on the basis of performance in Stenography Test of 60 Marks. The particulars thereof, are as follow :

  1. English Steno. Grade-II (Class-II)
    • Duration of Dictation per Passage : 4 minutes
    • Total Passages : 2
    • Speed of Dictation : 120 w.p.m.
    • Words per Passage : 480
    • Total Transcription Time : 50 minutes
  2. Gujarati Steno. Grade-II (Class-II)
    • Duration of Dictation per Passage : 4 minutes
    • Total Passages : 2
    • Speed of Dictation : 120 w.p.m.
    • Words per Passage : 360
    • Total Transcription Time : 75 minutes

(ii) For Gujarati Stenographer Grade-II, at the time of transcription, Candidates will be facilitated with ‘Gujarati Indic Input Tools (MS Office Indic Version) Fonts and they can use any of the following Keyboard/Layout :

  • Gujarati Inscript
  • Gujarati Typewriter
  • Gujarati Typewriter (G)
  • Godrej Indica
  • Remington Indica
  • Special Characters
  • Gujarati Tera font

Note: Candidates will not be allowed to use Gujarati Transliteration (Phonetic) Fonts.

(iii) Candidates appearing for the Stenography/Skill Test shall have to take the Dictation in Shorthand Notations only, and those detected to be taking/taken dictation in longhand, would be disqualified forthwith.

(iv) The Candidate securing minimum 50% Marks in the Stenography Test, shall only be eligible for being called for Viva-Voce Test (Oral Interview).

(v) In case, large number of Candidates qualify in the Stenography Test, it will be open for the High Court to restrict the number of Candidates as deemed necessary, according to Merit.

(B) Viva-voce Test :

[Tentatively scheduled in the month of November / December’17]
(i) Viva-voce Test shall be of 40 Marks.
(ii) Suitability of the Candidates, at the Viva-voce Test, will be assessed on the basis of one’s Mental Alertness, General Knowledge, Current affairs, Clear and logical exposition, Skills, Ethics, Power of assimilation, Power of communication, Character and Analytical ability, Knowledge of Gujarati, Hindi & English Language etc.
(iii) For being eligible to be included in the Final Merit List, the Candidate shall have to obtain minimum 25% Marks in the Viva-Voce Test (Oral Interview).
(C) The Select List & Wait List will be prepared on the basis of 50% Aggregate Marks obtained by the Candidates in Stenography/Skill Test and the Viva-voce Test.
